Artistic director Julianne Boyd will direct Mockingbird, which will play the Barrington's Mainstage Oct. 8-26. Christopher Sergel has penned the adaptation of Harper Lee's famed novel, which is described as "a powerful exploration of racial injustice, courage and the loss of innocence in the American Deep South."
The cast will be led by David Adkins as Atticus Finch with Rosalind Cramer (Ms. Dubose), Venida Evans (Calpurnia), Debra Jo Rupp (Miss Maudie), John Juback (Bob Ewell), Ross Kane Oparowski (Dill), Ken LaRon (Reverend Sykes), Bob Lohbauer (Judge Taylor/Cunningham), Christian Meola (Jem), MaeEllen Scarpa (Mayella), Bob Sorenson (Nathan/Heck Tate), Jerome Spratling (Tom Robinson), Lou Sumrall (Mr. Gilmer/Boo Radley), Grace Sylvia (Scout) and Peggy Pharr Wilson (Miss Stephanie).
The creative team will also include Brad Berridge (sound designer), Scott Pinkney (lighting designer), Marion Williams (scenic designer), Jacob Climer (costume designer), Dan Cohen (assistant to the director) and Stephen Gabis (dialect coach). Renee Lutz is the production stage manager.
The classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel will play the Mainstage June 17, 2009-July 11, 2009. Artistic director Boyd will also direct the musical, which features such classics as "June is Bustin' Out All Over," "If I Loved You" and "You'll Never Walk Alone." Joshua Bergasse will choreograph the production with musical direction by Darren Cohen.
