News "After the Storm," "Making the Boys," "Funny Girl" and "Dare" Set for L.A.'s Outfest The films "Dare," "Funny Girl," "Making the Boys" and the cast of "Glee" are among the offerings presented as part of Outfest, the 2009 Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.

Running July 9-19, special events for the festival include Q&A sessions with the cast and creative teams of Fox's "Glee," starring Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison, and HBO's "Big Love." Also announced for the "Words, Pictures and Music" panel discussion of movie musicals are Bill Condon ("Dreamgirls," "Chicago"), Leslie Dixon ("Hairspray"), Peter Barsocchini ("High School Musical") and H.P. Mendoza ("Colma: The Musical").

Additional noteworthy screenings include "After the Storm," a new documentary that follows a group of New Orleans teenagers who unite with Broadway professionals (including director Gerry McIntyre) to stage a production of Once on This Island following the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.

Outfest will offer Sandra Bernhard's "Without You I'm Nothing," as well as The Boys in the Band documentary "Making the Boys," "Before Stonewall," "Prayers for Bobby" and an outdoor sing-along screening of "Funny Girl."

The closing gala presentation will be a special presentation of screenwriter David Brind and director Adam Salky's full-length feature film "Dare," starring Emmy Rossum, Alan Cumming, Ana Gasteyer, Ashley Springer, Cady Huffman, Sandra Bernhard and Rooney Mara.
