News Aftermath, Starring Annie Potts, Opens in L.A. May 21 The Los Angeles return engagement of Elliott Shoenman's Aftermath, starring Golden Globe Award nominee Annie Potts, officially opens May 21 at the Matrix Theatre.

Annie Potts, who appeared in the Tony-winning Broadway hit God of Carnage, starred in the world premiere of Shoenman's play last winter at the Odyssey Theatre. Mark L. Taylor again directs the current engagement that plays the Matrix Theatre through June 26.

In addition to Potts ("Designing Women"), the cast features Meredith Bishop, Michael Mantell and Daniel Taylor.

The dramatic comedy centers on "a widow trying to help her children, and herself, deal with the mess her husband left behind when he jumped into the Hudson River."

Aftermath has set design by Gary Guidinger, lighting design by Jeremy Pivnick, costume design by Linda Serijan-Fasmer, sound design/original music by Bennett Barbakow and original music by Matt George.
