Performances begin May 4 for My Paris at New Haven's Long Wharf Theatre. With direction by Tony winner Kathleen Marshall, the new musical features music and lyrics by French icon Charles Aznavour, a book by Oscar and Tony winner Alfred Uhry and musical adaptations by Tony winner Jason Robert Brown.

My Paris is set to officially open May 11 and stars Tony nominee Bobby Steggert as legendary French painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.

The cast also includes Darius Barnes, Mara Davi, Donna English, Josh Grisetti, Anne Horak, Thomas Hewitt, Timothy Hughes, Jamie Jackson, Nikka Graff Lanzarone, Tiffany Mann, Kate Marilley, Andrew Mueller, John Riddle and Erica Sweany. The engagement is scheduled to run through May 29 on the Claire Tow Stage in the C. Newton Schenck III Theatre.

According to production notes, My Paris examines the life and times of Toulouse-Lautrec. Toulouse-Lautrec lovingly rendered the gaiety, color, and heartbreak of Montmartre, Le Can Can, and the world of Le Moulin Rouge," states the description. "It’s the story of a great artist that loved a world that never quite loved him back.

The creative team also includes David Eggers (associate director/associate choreographer), David Gardos (music direction), Derek McLane (sets), Paul Tazewell (costumes), Don Holder (lights), Brian Ronan (sound), Olivia Sebesky (projections) and Telsey and Company (casting). Chris Zaccardi is the production stage manager.

The creative team is among the most accomplished which we’ve had the opportunity to work with. I am certain it will be an exciting production,Long Wharf artistic director Gordon Edelstein commented in an earlier press release. I’ve found a musical that I believe will be an event, a joyous celebration of life, love, and art.
