All the Fine Boys, a new play by Erica Schmidt, officially opens Off-Broadway March 1 in a production from The New Group. Set in suburban South Carolina in the late '80s, the play delves into the complexities of adulthood and sexual awakening.
Schmidt directs a cast that includes Hunger Games and Masters of Sex actor Isabelle Fuhrman and Abigail Breslin (Dirty Dancing), along with Joe Tippett and Alex Wolff. Performances began February 14 at The Pershing Square Signature Center in the Ford Foundation Studio Theatre and are scheduled to continue through March 26.
In All the Fine Boys, best friends Jenny and Emily are desperate for a little knowledge and experience—Emily chooses her senior crush from the high school play, and Jenny goes after a man she’s seen at her family’s church. Their parallel stories, at once tricky and terrifying, unveil the complications of sexual awakening and the first painful gasps of adulthood.
