The prequel to the Emmy Award-winning "Breaking Bad" will also feature "Breaking Bad" alums Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks. From Sony TV, "Better Call Saul," Deadline.com reports, "centers on Odenkirk's unflappable criminal lawyer Saul Goodman before he became Walter White's lawyer. Banks reprises his role as Saul’s trusted private investigator/fixer Michael 'Mike' Ehrmantraut. McKean will play a new character, Dr. Thurber, a brilliant attorney who is now restricted by an unusual affliction."
The new series is scheduled to make its debut in November.
McKean has appeared on Broadway in Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Superior Donuts, The Homecoming, The Pajama Game, Hairspray, Accomplice and Off-Broadway in Second Hand Memory. His numerous screen appearances include "Laverne & Shirley," "Dream On," "This is Spinal Tap" (which he also co-wrote), "Clue," "Coneheads," "Best in Show," "A Mighty Wind," "For Your Consideration" and "Whatever Works." He earned an Academy Award nomination for co-authoring the song "Kiss at the End of the Rainbow" for the 2003 film "A Mighty Wind."
