A vampire. A talk show hostess. A redneck. A "Charlie's Angel." And they're all girls in the John Montgomery Theater Company's revival of Suzanne Bachner's Icons and Outcasts, running Aug. 10-24 as a part of the Midtown International Theater Festival. Bachner (Screwdrivers and Sunday Brunch, Don't Let Destiny Push You Around) also directs. Icons is already a sexual comedy, where eight New Yorkers find themselves weaving in and out of each other's lives. Only this time, redneck hustler Bobby Ray, his closeted brother and the paleontologist vampire Clark Parker will be played by women. Included in the menagerie are the traditional girl parts, sex talk show temptress Candy Box and Jennifer Monroe, a woman with delusions of "Charlie's Angels"-dom.

The all-female cast features Rebecca Doerr, Barbara Hentscher, Alex McCord, Trish Minskoff, Cara Pontillo, Felicia Scarangello, Liz Sullivan and Stacey Tomassone.

There will be men involved with the production, however. Scantily-clad gentlemen in tight vinyl outfits will greet the audience with chocolate lollipops shaped like the male anatomy.

Designing Icons are Charles Townsend Wittriech, Jr (sets), John Tees (lighting), Patrick Hillan (sound) and costumes by the fetish clothing store, Manny's Closet.
