Created by Matthew Weiner ("The Sopranos") and directed by Alan Taylor, "Mad Men" will kick off its second season at 10 PM ET on July 27. The AMC announcement confirms that all 13-episodes of the series will now air in the Sunday-evening slot.
The drama – set in New York City in the 1960's – "pulls you into an unexpected new world — the high-powered and glamorous golden age of advertising where everyone is selling something — and nothing is ever what you expect it to be," according to the AMC website.
Fans interested in catching up on the hour-long series will be able to purchase the first season on DVD beginning July 1. AMC will also run an all-day marathon of "Mad Men" beginning at 12 noon July 20.
The "Mad Men" cast features Jon Hamm in the central role with Christina Hendricks, January Jones and Darby Stanchfield.
