News "American Idol" Names 14 of the Top 24 Semifinalists "American Idol" judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler announced Feb. 22 14 of the aspiring singers who have secured a spot in the current season's Top 24.

The 14 semifinalists are Baylie Brown from Krum, TX; Colton Dixon from Murfreesboro, TN; Creighton Fraker from Queens, NY; Reed Grimm from Ellsworth, WI; Heejun Han from Flushing, NY; Jen Hirsh from Agoura Hills, CA; Haley Johnsen from Beaverton, OR; Joshua Ledet from Westlake, LA; Phillip Phillips from Leesburg, GA; Jessica Sanchez from San Diego, CA; Chelsea Sorrell from Stokesdale, NC; Elise Testone from Charleston, SC; Erika Van Pelt from South Kingstown, RI; and Brielle Von Hugel from Staten Island, NY.

The remaining 10 contestants who will round out the Top 24 will be revealed Feb. 23 at 8 PM ET on Fox.

Former "American Idol" contestants who have taken to Broadway after their stint on "Idol" include Fantasia Barrino (The Color Purple), Clay Aiken (Spamalot), Constantine Maroulis (Rock of Ages), Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray), Frenchie Davis (Rent) and Jordin Sparks (In the Heights) as well as former "Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi (Chicago), among others.
