Video America’s Got Talent Winner Performs Ventriloquist Version of The Drowsy Chaperone's ‘Show Off’ Darci Lynne, season 12 champ, sings from the Broadway musical

On the August 15 episode of America’s Got Talent, season 12 champion Darci Lynne returned to perform “Show Off” from The Drowsy Chaperone.

The ventriloquist and her puppet Petunia first wowed audiences in 2017 singing songs like the Gershwins' “Summertime,” the late Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” and “Anything You Can Do” from Annie Get Your Gun. The young singer went out on tour in November 2017.

“Show Off” was originally performed by Tony winner Sutton Foster, who originated the role of Janet Van De Graaff in the musical by Bob Martin, Don McKellar, Lisa Lambert, and Greg Morrison. The musical was nominated for 13 Tony Awards in 2006 and took home five, including Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score.
