News Andrea McArdle Will Star in Media Theatre's Hello, Dolly!; Cast Announced Tony nominee Andrea McArdle, who created the title role in the original Broadway production of Annie, will star in The Media Theatre's production of the classic Jerry Herman musical Hello, Dolly! later this spring.

McArdle, who starred in Media's production of Mame in 2013, will return to the Pennsylvania venue for her second Herman musical April 22-May 24.

McArdle will be joined by Kelly Briggs as Horace Vandergelder, Patrick Ludt as Cornelius, Cameron Scot Slusser as Barnaby, Elisa Matthews as Irene Molloy, Madalyn St. John as Minnie Fay, Sam Nagel as Ambrose Kemper, Anne Connors as Ernestina Money, Megan Rucidlo as Ermengarde, Nicholas Saverine as Rudolph and Hillary Parker as Mrs. Rose. The ensemble includes Rachel Beiswenger, Nicole Calabrese, Zachary Chiero, JP Dunphy, Nathan Nolen Edwards, Karen Hockenberry, Adam Hoyak, Richie Sklar and Taylor Webster.

Andrea McArdle made her Broadway debut in the original 1977 production of Annie for which she received a Tony nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. Her other Main Stem credits include Les Misérables, Starlight Express, Beauty and the Beast and State Fair. McArdle also played Rose in a production of Gypsy at Texas' Bay Area Houston Ballet & Theatre. Her screen credits include "Annie" and "Rainbow."

Hello, Dolly!, suggested by Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker, features a score by Jerry Herman and a book by Michael Stewart. Directed and choreographed by Gower Champion, the original production opened in January 1964 at the St. James Theatre, playing 2,844 performances before closing Dec. 27, 1970. The original cast featured Carol Channing, Eileen Brennan, David Burns, Jerry Dodge, Alice Playten, Charles Nelson Reilly and Ken Ayers. The musical won ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Actress in a Musical (Channing).
