"We are incredibly moved by the outpouring of love and support from the community," Mientus and Arden said to Playbill.com via email. "Both lifelong theatre lovers, we first met at the opening night of The Times They Are A-Changin' on Broadway. We have our fingers crossed for at least twice as long a run."
Arden originated the role of Coyote in the 2006 Broadway production of The Times They Are A-Changin' and has also been seen on Broadway in Big River as well as in the original Off-Broadway production of bare: A Pop Opera.
Mientus, who makes his Broadway debut in this season's Les Miz, is known for his television work on the NBC musical drama "Smash" and has been seen Off-Broadway in Carrie.
Following their engagement, the couple tweeted their thanks to the Broadway theatre community.
Thanks for all the love today. We are drinking pink champagne in the English countryside and feeling very very happy.
