The title of the cabaret refers to Noel Coward's song of the same name. The evening, directed by Michael Blakemore, will honor the conclusion of Coward's Blithe Spirit, which runs at London's Gielgud Theatre through June 7.
The company of performers features Blithe Spirit cast members Janie Dee, Charles Edwards and Jemima Rooper, and the performance will honor Lansbury, who stars in Coward's play as Madame Arcati. In addition to the performances, the cabaret will also include a three-course dinner.
"Blithe Spirit has been the most amazing success, but we can't come out of character and do much spontaneously in the show. If we do a cabaret, there is more opportunity to enjoy Angela's company," Dee told TheStage. "This will be a one-off, never to happen again celebration of the wonderful run here in London."
Alex Parker will provide musical direction. Profits from the event will be donated to charity.
Lansbury is currently reprising her Tony-Award winning turn as Madame Arcati in London. Her stage credits also include Mame, Dear World, Gypsy and Sweeney Todd. She starred on the TV show "Murder, She Wrote" and received Academy Award nominations for her roles in "Gaslight," "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "The Manchurian Candidate." She received a 2014 honorary Academy Award for her achievements in the cinematic industry. Visit cafedeparis.com for more information.
