Cabaret star Ann Hampton Callaway, a 2000 Tony Award nominee for her starring role in Swing!, swings again at Lincoln Center's "All the Cats Join In" event March 4 in the Walter Reade Theater. Callaway hosts and also performs at this celebration of swing dancing in American film. Among the clips are scenes from the Marx Brothers' "A Day at the Races," footage of swing great Frankie Manning, "Hellzapoppin"'s famous Lindy Hop sequence, cartoon cat and mouse Tom and Jerry in "Zoot Cat" and the 1944 animated short "All the Cats Join In," featuring music by Benny Goodman & His Orchestra. "Minnie's Moochers," a teen swing group, will also demonstate the arts of the Lindy, the Big Apple, the Shim Sham and the Jitterbug.
Tickets are $15 at the box office. The Walter Readed Theater is located at 165 West 65th Street.
