The Peccadillo Theater Company has announced that Annette O’Toole will star in its fall revival of George Kelly’s 1932 Broadway comedy, The Show-Off. The Off-Broadway production will mark the show’s first major New York City revival in 25 years.

The Show-Off, directed by Artistic Director Dan Wackerman, will kick off a five-week limited engagement September 21 at Theatre at St. Clement’s, ahead of a September 28 opening.

Set in North Philadelphia in the mid-1920s, a working-class Irish family is thrown into comical turmoil when one of the daughters, Amy, brings home a deceptive suitor named Aubrey. The compulsive liar and conman finds his match in the family’s matriarch, however, the no-nonsense Mrs. Fisher.

The Show-Off was last seen on Broadway in 1992 in a production from Roundabout Theatre Company starring Boyd Gaines as Aubrey and Pat Carroll as Mrs. Fisher.

Joining O’Toole (as Mrs. Fisher) in the Off-Broadway revival will be Marvin Bell, Aaron Gaines, Ian Gould, Elise Hudson, Emma Orelove, Douglas Rees, Buzz Roddy, and Tirosh Schneider. Gould will play Aubrey.

The Peccadillo production will feature scenic and lighting design by Harry Feiner, costume design by Barbara A. Bell, wig design by Paul Huntley, and properties by Jessica C. Ayala. Casting is by Stephanie Klapper, CSA.

Tickets are available online at ThePeccadillo.com or by calling Ovationtix at (866) 811- 4111.
