Loosely based on the 2011 comedy film of the same name, Graynor will play a foul-mouthed teacher looking to find her next husband at school.

"Based on the hit feature film, 'Bad Teacher' stars Ari Graynor as an always inappropriate, fearless and unapologetic former trophy wife who masquerades as a teacher in order to find a new man after her wealthy husband leaves her penniless," press notes state.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hilary Winston ("Community") will write the script and executive produce the Sony Pictures Television comedy alongside "Bad Teacher" screenwriters Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky. Sam Hansen and Jimmy Miller also will serve as executive producers.

Graynor's stage credits include The Performers, Brooklyn Boy, The Little Dog Laughed and Relatively Speaking. She has performed in the films "For A Good Time, Call...," "Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist," "The Guilt Trip," "Celeste and Jesse Forever," "10 Years" and "The Sitter."

Grier's stage credits include The Gerswhins' Porgy and Bess, Race, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Dreamgirls and The First. Davis, who starred in the TV show "Sex and the City," performed in the 2012 revival of Gore Vidal's The Best Man.
