The play is part of the "Chicago Theatres on the Air" series and will take place at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, IL. The performance will later be broadcast on Oct. 25 over 98.7 WFMT-FM. 42 Stories is a production of The Next Theatre. (Pickering is the former artistic director of Next.) The story takes place inside a condo building where a University of Chicago student moonlights as a janitor. The condo is also the workplace of a tense apartment manager, who must contend with a series of lurid break-ins which may or may not be inside jobs.

The production is a part of an eight-play series, which has featured such actors as Tyne Daly, Brian Dennehy, and Charles Durning. Other represented theatres include Second City, Northlight, and Victory Gardens. For information, call (847) 673-6300.
