News   Atlantic’s Extended Run of Fallon’s Momma Closes March 24 The Atlantic Theatre Company’s (ATC) extended run of Momma, starring Siobhan Fallon, will close on March 24. Fallon’s one-woman show opened Jan. 22 and was extended three times by ATC.

The Atlantic Theatre Company’s (ATC) extended run of Momma, starring Siobhan Fallon, will close on March 24. Fallon’s one-woman show opened Jan. 22 and was extended three times by ATC.

As reported earlier, Fallon was also nominated for the Danish equivalent of an Oscar—the Robert Award—for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the acclaimed feature film, "Dancer in the Dark."

Momma is the story of rural upstate New Yorker, Sharon Stenchel, and her “desperate quest to have a baby.” Stenchel’s “bizarre path to motherhood” takes her to New York City where she goes to meet with a fertility herbalist; on the way, Stenchel encounters all manner of challenges, while exploring her relationships with family, strangers, medical professionals and her husband.

Fallon’s one-woman show, What Can I Tell You? was presented at Second Stage, Hollywood Repertory Theater and the San Diego Repertory Theater. She also appeared in American Splendor at Theatre Hollywood. Here theater credits include in Luck, Pluck & Virtue directed by James Lapine and As You Like It directed by Adrian Hall at the New York Shakespeare Festival.  Her film credits include “Dancer in the Dark,” “Big Trouble,” “Boiler Room,” “A Cool, Dry Place,” “Men In Black,” “Fools Rush In,” “Forrest Gump” and “The Paper.”

Fallon’s play is directed by Alysa Wishingrad at the Atlantic. Wishingrad has been a member of the Atlantic Theater Company since 1988. Her directing credits there include a benefit staged reading of The Women starring Sigourney Weaver, Marisa Tomei and Kristen Johnston, as well as a number of one acts including works by Pinter, Mamet and Shel Silverstein.
