The mainstage series at WPPAC focuses on award-winning Broadway titles and begins with Tracy Letts' Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning August: Osage County, a darkly comic drama directed by WPPAC artistic director Jeremy Quinn, Oct. 5-14.

Following August: Osage County will be the New York regional premiere of the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical The Color Purple, directed by Quinn with music direction by Stephen Ferri, Feb. 1-24, 2013; and Oscar Wilde's classic farce The Importance of Being Earnest April 5-14, 2013.

The new "Spotlight" series at WPPAC includes two semi-staged productions, featuring a full orchestra on stage. The Who's Tommy, directed and choreographed by Greg Baccarini, will play Dec. 7-8 and Dec. 27-30; and Hair, the tribal rock musical, will run May 3-12, 2013.

The White Plains Performing Arts Center, a not-for-profit organization based in downtown White Plains, is "dedicated to the presentation and production of a full spectrum of performing arts events for the City of White Plains and its surrounding communities."
