News Baldwin and Lithgow to Host TCM's "Essentials" Series Stage and screen actors Alec Baldwin and John Lithgow have been signed to host the new season of the "Essentials" series for Turner Classic Movies.

Tony and Oscar nominee Baldwin will join Robert Osborne as the new co-host of the Saturday night "Essentials" movie series later this month. Both Baldwin and Osborne will offer insight into the selected movies that air Saturday evenings at 8 PM.

Tony winner Lithgow has been named the host of the third installment of the "Essentials, JR." series for TCM. Lithgow will lead viewers through the summer showcase of classic family friendly movies.

Baldwin has appeared on Broadway in Twentieth Century, A Streetcar Named Desire (Tony nomination), Serious Money and Loot. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in "The Cooler" and won an Emmy for his work in "30 Rock."

Lithgow most recently appeared in the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's All My Sons. His stage credits also include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Retreat From Moscow, The Changing Room, Requiem for a Heavyweight, Sweet Smell of Success and M. Butterfly. His screen credits include "3rd Rock from the Sun," "30 Rock," "Dreamgirls," "Kinsey," "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers," "Redwood Curtain," "The Pelican Brief," "Terms of Endearment" and "Raising Cain."
