Artistic director Gerard Charles's version of Giselle, based on Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot's choreography and set to Adolphe Adam's music, will open the season on September 22. A program of new shorter works, including a world premiere by Harrison McEldowney, will follow.
In December, BalletMet will revive its Nutcracker, created by Charles and actor Robert Post and with choreography by Charles.
Spring offerings include Alice in Wonderland, based on Lewis Carroll's novels; a mixed program featuring Balanchine's Stars and Stripes; and a collaboration with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra.
