News Barb Jungr Brings Bob Dylan Back to the Stage in Cabaret at 59E59 British songstress Barb Jungr will pick up where Twyla Tharp left off as she sings Bob Dylan songs as part of her upcoming stint at 59E59 Theatres.

"Jazz Cabaret at the E:Café" will transform the complex's Theater C into an intimate cabaret room, starting Dec. 5 with Jungr.

Accompanied by Charlie Giordano on piano and accordion, Jungr will sing Dylan songs as well as Jacques Brel tunes and those from her Linn Records repertoire. The singer returns to 59E59 following her sold-out run earlier this year.

Tharp recently created The Times They Are A-Changin', a musical using the Dylan catalog in the same way she crafted Movin' Out from Billy Joel songs. The work, which debuted at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre before heading to Broadway, closed Nov. 19 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

The lineup of stars also slated to fill the "E:Café" during the month of December is still in the works, though Penny Fuller — who recently appeared at the venue in Primary Stages' Off-Broadway run of Southern Comforts — may follow up her run at Birdland with some dates.

Tickets to the "Jazz Cabaret at the E:Café" — which will run Tuesdays-Thursdays at 8:30 PM, Fridays-Saturdays at 8:30 and 10 PM as well as Sundays at 7:30 PM — will be priced at $20-25 ($14-17.50 for 59E59 members) with a $10 drink minimum. 59E59 Theatre is located at 59 East 59th Street (between Madison and Park Avenue) and on the web at 59e59.org.
