Barbara Cook sings at Carnegie Hall Nov. 18.

The 7:30 PM evening will feature the songs of George Gershwin and Irving Berlin. Among the artists who will be participating in the master class are Sara Jayne Blackmore, a soprano from the New England Conservatory of Music; Brendan Curran, a baritone from the Peabody Conservatory; Paul LaRosa, a baritone from The Juilliard School; and Meng Chun Lin, a soprano from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. The singers will be accompanied on piano by Nathan Brandewein and Ji Young Lee.

Barbara Cook has starred on Broadway in Flahooley, Candide, The Gay Life, The Music Man and She Loves Me. She received a Best Featured Actress in a Musical Tony Award for her performance in The Music Man, and her one-woman show, Mostly Sondheim, was nominated for a Tony in the Best Special Theatrical Event category. Cook was most recently on the New York stage in Barbara Cook's Broadway. Both Mostly Sondheim and Barbara Cook's Broadway were recorded for DRG. Cook made her solo debut at the Metropolitan Opera, which was recently released on DRG Records.
