News Bay Street's Motherhood Out Loud to Feature Works by Henley, Loomer, Rebeck and More Lisa Peterson will direct a developmental staging of Motherhood Out Loud, a collection of short works by American authors, at the Bay Street Theatre in late July.

Bay Street will present Motherhood at the Parrish Art Museum July 30-Aug. 1. A full production of the work, also under Peterson's direction, will play Hartford Stage Feb. 25-March 21, 2010.

Described as "a loose chronological journey of motherhood," Motherhood Out Loud, according to press notes, "celebrates the very personal, diverse, funny, exciting, touching and altogether extraordinary experiences that boldly expose the unabashed truths that unite us all. From stepmoms to single moms, immigrant moms to grandmothers, and new moms to empty nesters, Motherhood Out Loud reveals with illuminating insight (and humor), the raw emotions and rocky roads we travel in life."

The work features contributions from Jane Anderson, Leslie Ayvazian, Pat Candaras, Bridget Carpenter, Jessica Goldberg, Beth Henley, Deborah Zoe Laufer, Lisa Loomer, Michelle Lowe, Asra Nomani, Christine Zander, Mark Nutter, Brett Paesel, Theresa Rebeck, Luanne Rice, Adriana Trigiani and Annie Weisman.
