The 90-minute musical, which features a host of Broadway talent, was originally scheduled to begin performances June 22. The creative team has now announced a new start date of June 27 to allow for additional rehearsal time.

J. Burton Gold and Jason Setterlund authored Surf the Musical, which has choreography by RJ Durell and musical direction by Ed Hamilton.

Here's how it's characterized: "Surf the Musical highlights the fun and energy felt in the music of The Beach Boys and the integrity of the music is always maintained. The cast features Marshal Kennedy Carolan (Hair, Mamma Mia!), Lauren Zakrin (Legally Blonde, Wicked), Adrian Zmed (Grease, "Grease 2," Children of Eden), Todd Buonopane (Spelling Bee..., "30 Rock"), Tony nominee Robert Torti (Starlight Express, Joseph...), Riley Costello (13, Everyday Rapture), Alex Ringler (A Chorus Line, West Side Story), Nick Daldon (Hairspray, Hair), Tiffany Daniels (The Color Purple), Julie Kotidares (A Chorus Line), Colt Prattes, Joseph J.
