[/caption]Bebe Neuwirth returns to the Chicago world premiere of The Addams Family on Jan. 5 after being sidelined with tendonitis Dec. 31-Jan. 3.
The Tony Award-winning actress (Sweet Charity, Chicago) plays Morticia, the matriarch of the ghastly clan that lives in a haunted mansion. The musical by Andrew Lippa (music and lyrics) and Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice (book) is based on the macabre characters created by American cartoonist Charles Addams.
The Windy City tryout continues to Jan. 10 at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre. The first Broadway preview will be March 8 at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre.
