Directed by Joshua Chase Gold, the production of the Tony-nominated play will officially open at 13th Street Repertory Oct. 17. The run will end Nov. 29. The cast features Ryan Nicholoff as Max, Ed Davis as Rudy, Jim Halloran as Horst, Chris Worley as Captain, Ronald Hornsby as Greta, Chris Layton as Wolf and Richard Kirkwood as Uncle Freddie.
Bent, according to press notes, "closely follows the story of two gay concentration camp victims who are sent to Dachau and who fall in love, using their relationship as an emotional crutch in their efforts to rebuff the horror of the Holocaust. Max would rather wear a yellow star and proclaim himself a Jew than be lanced with the pink triangle that designates homosexuality."
Show times are Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 PM; there will be no performance on Thanksgiving Day.
Thirteenth Street Repertory Company is located in Manhattan at 50 West 13th Street. Tickets, priced $17-$20, area available by calling (212) 352-3101.
