Jazzscape, the second annual Bermuda jazz festival, will run Oct. 8-12 on the Atlantic island, featuring several artists who have appeared in cabaret or musical theatre.

The lineup of musicians includes singers Chaka Khan, Nancy Wilson, and New York Voices, as well as instrumentalists Arturo Sandoval and the David Sanborn Group.

Here is the schedule:

Wednesday, Oct. 8 (evening)
Harbour Night Jazzscape Celebration.
Front Street in Hamilton will be transformed into a jazz party to kick off Bermuda Jazzscape 1997 (free admission).

Thursday, October 9 (evening)
Sunset Swing at King's Square
in St. Georges (free admission). Dancing to the bands of the Swing era. Friday, October 10 (evening) Gala Opening Night Concert at Royal Naval Dockyard. Features performances by local artists plus Nancy Wilson and David Sanborn Group. (Reserved seats $55, general admission $45, Special VIP tickets available.)

Saturday, October 11 (day and evening) The Best of Bermuda at Royal Naval Dockyard. Local cuisine and crafts as local talent shares the stage with international performers including: New York Voices, Arturo Sandoval, Chaka Khan, and others. (Reserved seats $55, general admission $45)

Sunday, October 12 (day) Celebration at Royal Naval Dockyard, Gospel brunch and more performances by local and international talent. Free admission.

Tickets purchased in advance are subject to a $4 per ticket service charge. Tickets purchased on the day of the event will be $60 reserved and $50 General Admission. A limited number of Jazzscape VIP packages will be sold. These include priority seating, accommodations at the official Jazzscape headquarters, Elbow Beach Bermuda, access to VIP hospitality areas at the festival, and invitations to after show parties for the performers.
