The forthcoming national tour of the Tony-winning revival of Hello, Dolly!, starring Tony winner Betty Buckley as matchmaker Dolly Gallagher Levi, will be part of Pittsburgh CLO’s newly announced 2019 summer season.
The Jerry Herman musical will conclude the CLO's 73rd season, running August 6–11, 2019.
Kicking off the 2019 summer season will be the ’50s-themed audience favorite, Grease, June 7–16. The 2019 season will also include the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Oklahoma! (June 21–30), the family classic Peter Pan (July 12–21), and the Tony-nominated Rock of Ages (July 23–28).
The season will conclude July 30–August 4 with the 2012 Tony-winning Best Musical Once, inspired by the film of the same name.
“Pittsburgh CLO’s 2019 Summer Season showcases a carefully-curated selection of Broadway favorites and contemporary hits designed to welcome audiences from across the region to enjoy world-class musical theater at an affordable price at the beautiful Benedum Center,” said Pittsburgh CLO Executive Producer Van Kaplan. “I am pleased to welcome my dear friend Betty Buckley and the National Tour of Hello, Dolly! direct from Broadway this coming year. Critics and audiences have embraced this production with great enthusiasm, and it is certain to sweep Pittsburgh off its feet. I am also proud to premiere productions of Once and Rock of Ages for the first time.
