Another original Miss Saigon cast member, Billy Porter, will rejoin the cast of the Broadway show May 17. Porter joins original Kim, Lea Salonga, who stepped back into her Tony-winning role Jan. 18.

Porter, an ensemble member from the original Broadway cast, has also appeared in Five Guys Named Moe, Smokey Joe's Cafe and as Teen Angel in the original revival cast of Grease!. Most recently, he played Jesus in the South Africa set revival of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Helen Hayes Performing Arts Center in Nyack.

Porter replaces current John, Leonard Joseph, an original cast member who played a Marine when the show first opened in 1991.

Also in the Saigon cast are Will Chase (Chris), Luoyong Wong (the Engineer), Margaret Ann Gates (Ellen) and Yancey Arias (Thuy). Alex Lee Tano plays Kim at certain performances.
