Applause Books has arranged the simultaneous release of three biographies of distinguished British actors -- Lord Laurence Olivier, Ralph Richardson and Sir John Gielgud -- simultanously in October 1997.
The three biographies are The Real Life of Laurence Olivier by Roger Lewis, An Actor And his Time Gielgud's autobiography, and Ralph Richardson: An Actor's Life by Garry O'Conner. The precise release date has not been set.
Applause says it's the first time British literary agents and publishers are permitting three biographies to be published simultaneously in the U.S.
The three authors will discuss their biographies at Applause Books at a date TBA in October. Gielgud will discuss his career with Richardson and Olivier via satellite while O'Conner and Lewis will be at Applause Books' flagship store on Manhattan's West 71st Street.
