Can't get enough of her in Smokey Joe's Cafe? Well, B.J. Crosby fans should head over to the Sugar Bar club, Nov. 1, 8 or 15. Those three Mondays (Smokey's off-night), Crosby will offer a concert, drawing on her jazz, showtune, blues and gospel background.

Crosby received a 1995 Tony nomination for Smokey Joe's Cafe, in which she sings such standards as "Fools In Love" and "Hound Dog." Most recently she played Effie in the 1997-98 tour of Dreamgirls. Her recordings include "Smokey Joe's Cafe" and "Lady BJ Sings Lady Day, A Tribute To Billie Holiday."

Crosby will stay with Smokey Joe until it closes in January. There was talk of her going to London in Dreamgirls after that, but the producer of that project, Irving Siders, died quite recently, so those plans are up in the air.
