Sonnet Sings: The Bard is the title of an upcoming evening at Birdland to benefit the Sonnet Repertory Theatre.

The Nov. 17 concert will feature original songs inspired by the work of William Shakespeare. Among the songwriters whose tunes will be featured are Stephen Flaherty, Jeff Bowen, Alan Menken, Henry Krieger, Bobby Lopez and Jeff Marx. Performers are scheduled to include Heidi Blickenstaff, Matt Cavenaugh, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Henry Krieger, Rick Lyon, Kermit the Frog, Paul David Story, Paris Remillard and Kaitlin Kiyan. The Sonnet Repertory Theatre's "Little Fairies" will also reprise a scene from the company's recent production of Shakespeare's Midsummer.
