News Blythe Danner Joins Cast of NBC's "Up All Night," Starring Christina Applegate Tony Award winner Blythe Danner has been cast in a potentially recurring role on NBC's new comedy series "Up All Night," according to Deadline.com.

Danner will play the mother of Christina Applegate (Sweet Charity) on the series, which also stars Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph.

On "Up All Night," according to NBC, "Applegate stars as Reagan Brinkley: loving wife, successful career woman, life of the party and, most recently, mom. Determined not to compromise her career or cool reputation to the clichés of motherhood, Reagan adjusts to life with a baby and returns to work with the support of her stay-at-home husband, Chris (Arnett)."

Danner won a Tony Award in 1970 for her performance in Butterflies Are Free. She has been nominated for her performances in Betrayal, A Streetcar Named Desire and Follies. The actress has also appeared on Broadway in The Deep Blue Sea, Blithe Spirit, The Philadelphia Story, Twlfth Night, The Miser, Lovers and Cyrano de Bergerac.

"Up All Night" will have its series premiere Sept. 21 on NBC and air Wednesday nights at 8 PM ET.
