Josh Gad, Tony Award nominee for originating the role of Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon, will star in "Heavy Duty," a film comedy about a man who goes on a wellness retreat to lose weight and runs into unexpected trouble, according to Deadline.com.

Being produced by Paramount Pictures, the film will be written by Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, based on Gad's original idea. No production date or premiere date were reported. Gad has several film projects in the works. He recently wrapped his appearance as Le Fou in the 2017 live-action "Beauty and the Beast." He's scheduled to play Roger Ebert opposite Will Ferrell’s Russ Meyer in "Russ and Roger Go Beyond."

He will co-write a film about charismatic wrestler Gorgeous George, but no word yet on whether Gad will also play the role.
