Boys of Summer: Take Me Out Cast Sings National Anthem at Shea Stadium July 7

News   Boys of Summer: Take Me Out Cast Sings National Anthem at Shea Stadium July 7

They're not ballplayers, they just play them in the theatre, but on July 7 members of the cast of Take Me Out, the Tony Award-winning Broadway play, will be at Shea Stadium to sing the national anthem.

In the Richard Greenberg play, the actors are athletes on a Yankees-like team called the Empires. The incident packed season for the Empires includes the star player coming out of the closet, the addition of a racist newcomer, a possible murder and the crumbling of friendships. The Take Me Out cast will sing at the Mets vs. the Atlanta Braves game at Shea. The game begins at 7:10 PM (ET).

Take Me Out won 2003 Tonys for Direction (Joe Mantello), Play and Featured Actors (Denis O'Hare). Performances continue at the Walter Kerr Theatre. For tickets, call (212) 239-6200 or (800) 432-7250.
