At the 7 PM event, according to Joe's Pub, "actors from stage and screen perform some of the greatest ruminations on power and money from writers such as Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Charles Dickens and Aristophanes. 'Lapham's Quarterly' takes as it mission the importance of understanding history as our greatest legacy. As we head into the fall elections, these wise and lively voices of the past have much to tell us."

Scheduled to perform are Oliver Platt (Guys and Dolls), Ari Graynor (The Performers), Katherine Waterston, Emily Young (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Richard Thomas (An Enemy of the People), Brian d'Arcy James (Giant, "Smash"), Bryce Pinkham (Ghost), Jay O. Sanders (Pygmalion), Justin Levine (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) and Heath Calvert (Hair).
