A benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the 8 PM concert will feature the talents of Brian d'Arcy James, Sean McDermott, Rita Harvey, Michael Lanning, Judy McLane, Megan McGinnis, William Michals, Jeri Sager and Danny Zolli. Peter Palmer, who starred in the title role of the original Broadway production and the subsequent film of Li'l Abner, will be the evening's special guest and will mark the first time the actor has appeared on a New York stage in three decades. John Glaudini and Gaylon Butler will be the musical directors for the evening, which is simply called Berg/Off-Bway. Thomas Mills directs the concert, which will be hosted by Jekyll & Hyde's Rob Evan.
Neil Berg is a producing artistic director of many concert series in Manhattan and Nyack. In addition to The Prince and the Pauper, he also composed The Man Who Would Be King, Tim: A New Musical and The Life and Rhymes of Fiona Gander.
