News Bright Lights, Big City Heads to Big City Lights of London Paul Scott Goodman's 1999 musical Bright Lights, Big City, based on Jay McInerney's cult novel, will receive its U.K. professional premiere, beginning performances at Hoxton Hall Nov. 4, prior to an official opening Nov. 8, for a limited run through Nov. 25 only.

Originally premiered at Off-Broadway's New York Theatre Workshop in 1999, where it was directed by Michael Greif, it tells the story of Jamie, a struggling young writer who finds himself spiralling out of control as he confronts his demons in the club scene of 1984 New York City. The sung-through rock musical follows Jamie through the week in which he hits rock bottom before finding the hope of redemption. Directed and designed by Christopher Lane, with choreography from Fabian Aloise and musical direction by Elizabeth Nantais, the ten-person cast features Paul Ayres (We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia!, Wicked, Jersey Boys) as Jamie. Also in the cast are Stuart Armfield, Rietta Austin, Mary Cormack Matthew Crowe, Lori Haley Fox, Jodie Jacobs, George Maguire, Oliver Roll and Rachael Wooding. It is produced by Sue Knox for This Stage Limited.
