Lola from Damn Yankees

Original Costume Designer: William & Jean Eckart
Bear Costume Designer: Giva Taylor, with the assistance of Miriam Carlin
Signed by Gwen Verdon

"Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets" is the song she sang, and how true it was when Gwen Verdon dazzled all of Broadway wearing this seductive costume in the original production of Damn Yankees. In this re-creation (as in the original), Lola’s luscious figure is ("bear"-ly) covered by a lace-trimmed, black-tissue, faille leotard with tiny ribbon straps worn under black re-embroidered lace pedal pushers. Her accessories include black patent-leather high-heeled pumps, short black lace-trimmed gloves, dangling earrings, and three red roses adorning her curly red hair. Blue eyes complete the homage to Ms. Verdon who has autographed our very sexy "Lola Bear.
