Performer and teacher, Hagen graced the Broadway stage in productions of The Seagull, Othello, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Country Girl and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? — winning Tony Awards for the latter two. She was also honored with a special Lifetime Achievement Tony Award in 1999. To read Playbill On-Line's obituary of Uta Hagen, click here.
