In a statement, the show said, "The change in her start date was made to allow her the necessary time to fully recover from multiple stress fractures to her foot that requires further rehabilitation."

Filling in for the extra month as Roxie Hart will be Chicago veterans Amy Spanger (Aug. 4-16) and Dylis Croman (beginning Aug. 18). Willis will extend her planned limited run through Nov. 1 at the Ambassador Theatre.

Chicago currently stars Grammy Award winner Amy Spanger as Roxie Hart, international stage sensation Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Ivan Hernandez as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Matron “Mama” Morton and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

Willis' father Bruce is also making his Broadway debut this fall alongside Laurie Metcalf in the suspense thriller Misery, the Stephen King adaptation beginning Oct. 22 at the Broadhurst Theatre. 

Willis' career as a performer started when she was a child, starring opposite her mother in the films "Striptease" and "Now and Then." Currently working on her solo music album, she has Off-Broadway credits that include Love, Loss and What I Wore and For the Record live cabaret in Los Angeles. Her TV credits also include "Workaholics," "Pretty Little Liars," and "Hawaii 5-0." Set in the decadent 1920's, Chicago follows Roxie Hart, housewife and nightclub dancer who is thrown into jail for murdering her lover. There, she fraternizes with a group of other murderesses, including rival cellmate Velma Kelly. In attempt to dupe the media and gain freedom, she hires slick criminal lawyer Billy Flynn.

Now the longest-running American musical in Broadway history, Chicago features a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Ebb. Produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, the 1997 revival is the winner of six Tony Awards, featuring direction by Walter Bobbie and choreography by Ann Reinking. The show also features set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Ken Billington and sound design by Scott Lehrer.
