News   Broadway's School of Rock Inaugurates Digital Lottery

School of Rock — The Musical, which recently opened at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway, has joined the growing rank of shows offering online discount lotteries instead of front-of-theatre lotteries.

Starting with the Jan. 19 performance, the School of Rock digital lottery will open daily at 12:01 AM ET for entrants to win a limited number of $37 same-day tickets to that day’s performance(s) at schoolofrocklottery.com.

The lottery will remain open until 10:59 AM ET for matinees and 2:50 PM ET for evening performances. Winners will be drawn daily at approximately 11:15 AM ET for matinees and approximately 3:15 PM ET for evening performances. Winners will be notified by e-mail immediately upon drawing. To claim tickets, winners must present their photo ID at the Winter Garden Theatre box office at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the corresponding performance to purchase their tickets. Seat locations and number of tickets awarded by the lottery are subject to availability.

School of Rock also offers student rush tickets. There is a limit of two tickets — priced at $37 each, payable in cash or by credit card — per person. No student ID is required; the rush tickets are available each day when the box office opens.

Based on the hit 2003 film of the same title, School of Rock features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Glenn Slater and a book by Julian Fellowes with direction by Laurence Connor. The new musical also has choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter, scenic and costume design by Anna Louizos, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Mick Potter, music supervision by Ethan Popp and hair design by Josh Marquette.

The cast is headed by Alex Brightman and Sierra Boggess.

School of Rock — The Musical is produced on Broadway by Andrew Lloyd Webber for The Really Useful Group, Warner Music Group & Access Industries, The Shubert Organization and The Nederlander Organization. Nina Lannan and Madeleine Lloyd Webber serve as executive producers.
