Bruce Willis Exits Woody Allen Film, Citing Broadway Schedule | Playbill

News Bruce Willis Exits Woody Allen Film, Citing Broadway Schedule Conflicting schedules have forced Bruce Willis to choose between two tantalizing career opportunities: his Broadway debut in Stephen King's Misery or his first starring role in a Woody Allen film. Broadway won out, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Allen's currently untitled new film will also star Kristen Stewart, Stephen Kunken, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Jeannie Berlin, Corey Stoll, Ken Stott, Anna Camp, Sari Lennick and Paul Schneider.

No details have been revealed for the feature film. Deadline reported that Allen plans to recast in time to stay on track with shooting which was scheduled to commence shortly in New York and Los Angeles.

Willis is scheduled to appear on Broadway this season in a 16-week engagement of the play Misery,, based on Stephen King's horror best-seller, which begins previews Oct. 22 and opens Nov. 15. With rehearsals, that would have left too narrow a window for Allen to complete shooting.

Oscar winner Allen is currently represented on screen by the new film "Irrational Man."
