These are just a few of the musical theatre stars lined up for the new Off-Broadway series Singular Sensations, set to debut Nov. 3 at the Village Theatre. Hosted by Glen Roven, who will also accompany the performers on piano, the intimate evenings will feature interviews and performances by the line-up of stellar artists. Glen Roven, who is also the artistic director of the series, began his career while in high school as a rehearsal pianist for Stephen Schwartz's Pippin. At 19 he became the conductor for Broadway's Sugar Babies, and since that time he has written, produced and conducted for such artists as Julie Andrews, Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Placido Domingo, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Bob Hope, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Liza Minnelli, Patti LuPone, Bernadette Peters, Diana Ross, Lily Tomlin, Shirley MacLaine and Luther Vandross. He is also the recipient of four Emmy Awards.
Singular Sensations will play Mondays at 8 PM, Wednesday through Fridays at 8 PM, Saturdays at 2 and 8 PM and Sundays at 3 and 7 PM.
