G‹tterd‹mmerung, directed by Tim Albery and conducted by general director Richard Bradshaw, is the third installment in the company's Ring cycle, the first ever staged entirely in Canada. The company's Die Walk‹re, directed by Atom Egoyan, debuted in spring 2004; Siegfried, directed by Fran‹ois Girard, opens on January 27. Michael Levine's Das Rheingold will be seen for the first time in September 2006, as part of three complete performances of the cycle.
Macbeth, which opens the season on September 22, is directed by Nicholas Muni, the former director of Cincinnati Opera. It stars Robert Hyman and Georgina Lukšs. Rodelinda, also directed by Albery, is conducted by Harry Bicket, the Handel specialist who led the Met's new production of Rodelina last month.
The season also includes revivals of Bellini's Norma and Berg's Wozzeck.
