News Cape Cod Theatre Project Opens With Out of the Water July 7 The Cape Cod Theatre Project kicks off its summer season with a staged reading of Brooke Berman's Out of the Water July 7.

Out of the Water, according to press notes, "is a funny, bittersweet play about the unbreakable ties of family. Polly and Graham meet by chance at a funeral, only to discover they're actually estranged ex-siblings. Fueled by forgotten desire, the two adults forge a whirlwind affair that redefines the meaning of love and fidelity."

Casting for Out of the Water includes Matthew Arkin, Marin Hinkle and Katherine Waterston. Trip Cullman, whose recent New York credits include direction for Terrence McNally's Some Men at Second Stage, helms the staged reading.

Up next is Itamar Moses' BACK BACK BACK on July 12. The play centers around "a rollicking saga of two of America's greatest pastimes: baseball....and running from the past. Mark, Jose, and Walt were major league rookies of the year, but their careers couldn't be more different. Does greatness always come with a price? Can only someone with nothing to lose tell the truth?"

Pam Mackinnon, set to direct Edward Albee's Homelife and Zoo Story at Second Stage next season, will direct a cast featuring Justin Hagan, Darren Pettie and Joaquin Torres.

A Wake on Chappaquiddick, follows, opening July 19. Author Jessica Provenz's Chappaquiddick "is a haunting trio of stories, woven together by shared tragedy. On the secluded island of Chappaquiddick, a political catastrophe sends ripples through the lives of the townspeople, whose own personal disasters unfold in a series of scintillating vignettes." Two-time Tony nominee Amy Ryan leads a cast including Coast of Utopia vets Mia Barron and Jason Butler Harner. Kyle Donnelly directs.

The final summer offering will be monologist Mike Daisey's Tongues Will Wag on July 26. Daisey's provocative work includes 21 Dog Years, Invincible Summer, TRUTH, Great Men of Genius, Monopoly!, The Ugly American, I Miss the Cold War and Wasting Your Breath.

Daisey's recent run at A.R.T. in Boston made headlines this year when a school-sponsored group destroyed his script and walked out during his performance of Invincible Summer.

The Cape Cod Theatre Project is located in Falmouth, MA. Tickets may be purchased by calling the box office at (508) 457-4242 or online at www.capecodtheatreproject.org
