Caroline Flack, the presenter of the BAFTA award-winning Love Island, will step into the role of Roxie Hart in the London production of Chicago beginning December 10.

Flack, who made her stage debut as Irene Roth in the national tour of Crazy for You, will stay with the production through its final performance January 5, 2019, at the Phoenix Theatre.

She will join a cast that includes YouTube sensation and Broadway and RuPaul’s Drag Race star Todrick Hall as Billy Flynn, Josefina Gabrielle as Velma Kelly, Mazz Murray as Mama Morton, and Paul Rider as Amos Hart. Sarah Soetaert plays the role of Roxie until December 8.

Flack, who won the 2014 series of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, said in a statement, “I’ve been imagining playing Roxie since I was a teenager. To have now landed the role in the West End is a dream come true. I hope I do everyone proud and don’t fall off the ladder.”

The award-winning revival of John Kander and Fred Ebb's Chicago, winner of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards, and a Grammy, returned to London’s West End March 26, 2018, with a opening night April 11 at the Phoenix.

The musical, which is based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, has a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by Kander, and lyrics by Ebb.
