Sharr White's Sunlight is the season's National New Play Network world premiere, bowing Jan. 21-Feb. 14, 2010. NNPN funding allows several troupes to independently produce the same title and call it a world premiere, thus giving it more exposure toward a potential wider life.

Jasson Minadakis will direct the "new family drama about loyalty, power, and torture memos" in which "the personal and political collide."

My Name Is Asher Lev, a West Coast premiere, by Aaron Posner, adapted from the novel by Chaim Potok, Sept. 10-Oct. 40. "This moving adaptation of a modern classic presents a heartbreaking and triumphant vision of what it means to be an artist."

Boom, a Bay Area premiere, by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb, directed by Ryan Rilette, Nov. 12-Dec. 6. "A gay graduate student's personal ad lures a baby-phobic woman to his biology lab in an effort to repopulate the world after the apocalypse. [An] explosive comedy by Marin native Peter Sinn Nachtrieb." Equivocation, a Bay Area premiere, by Bill Cain, directed by Jasson Minadakis, March 25-April 18, 2010. "This brilliant new play takes you behind-the-scenes at the legendary Globe Theater where Shakespeare and his company struggle with how to play a high-stakes political game and stay true to their convictions." (The play premieres at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival this season.

Woody Guthrie's American Song, songs and writing of Woodie Guthrie, conceived, adapted and directed by Peter Glazer, orchestrations and vocal arrangements by Jeff Waxman, May 27-June 20, 2010. "This stirring musical follows legendary folk singer Woody Guthrie as he rambles coast to coast from 'California to the New York Islands,' and features over two dozen of his most famous songs, including 'Bound for Glory' and 'This Land Is Your Land.'"
