News Cast Set for Off-Broadway Run of Julia Jordan's Tatjana in Color The upcoming Culture Project staging of the New York premiere of Julia Jordan's Tatjana in Color has announced its cast. The work will run at the 45 Bleecker Street space, beginning Oct. 25 and opening Oct. 30 for an open-ended engagement.

The cast includes Glenn Fitzgerald (Lobby Hero), Rebecca Wisocky (36 Views), Nicole Lowrance, Kate Wetherhead (Sarah Plain and Tall) and Brad Bellamy.

Tatjana in Color is about an Austrian Expressionist painter who is accused of raping the twelve year-old daughter of a well-respected retired naval officer — a girl who is the subject of several of his nude paintings. The story is loosely based on the true story of Tatjana von Mossig, who would not testify against painter Egon Schiele in 1912.

Will Pomerantz directs this drama by the prolific up-and-coming scribe who has already seen her St. Scarlet play at The Ontological and Summer of the Swans at the Lucille Lortel earlier in the year. Her play Boy opens at Primary Stages in April 2004.

The design team for Tatjana in Color features Troy Hourie (sets), Devon Painter (costumes) and Joe Moritz (lighting).

The play won the Francesca Primus Prize and was published in the anthology "Women Playwrights, The Best Plays of 1997." Jordan was also a Susan Smith Blackburn Award finalist for her play Boy. Other works include the librettos for The Mice (with Neil Benjamin and Batboy's Larry O'Keefe) — which appeared as part of Prince Music Theatre's production of 3hree — and Sarah Plain and Tall with the same songwriting team. Tickets to Tatjana In Color at The Culture Project, 45 Bleecker Street are available by calling (212) 307-4100. For more information, visit www.45bleecker.com.
